Here is what has been added or improved on Shaeda recently.
Diagnostic reminder (Premium)
Taking a diagnostic at the start is highly beneficial as it measures and tracks one’s starting knowledge whilst also allowing Shaeda to personalise future learning based on weak points. Some premium members were not aware of this feature, so it is now made clearer after joining Premium.
A diagnostic should take around 20-30 minutes.
After completion, it can also be sent to tutors to help with personalising their lessons with you.
Translation bug fixed
Shaeda had a bug for certain languages whereby the LLM (Google’s Gemini) was not reading the correct underlying prompt. This resulted in standard AI quality translations (~90%). This has now been fixed, and the quality has now improved substantially to ~99-100%. If you previously generated some cards on Shaeda and noticed small errors, I encourage trying again with the fixes.
New Split desktop layout
A nice new layout to work through your cards and read the explanations alongside, or add your own with Self-Explain.
Improved Recovery Mode
Much more control has been added to how you would like to Recover a deck or folder, depending on your personal preferences.
Monthly progress emails
Optional monthly reports giving an overview on progress, retention, learning zones, learning efficiency and more.
Paste your flashcards
Very useful for using external AIs (i.e., using ChatGPT on your own account), and pasting a large amount of cards yourself. Just enter what you are studying, paste the prompt Shaeda provides into your own AI, and then paste the AI’s response back into Shaeda.
This is also very useful for users who currently have a tutor. The tutor can now easily create custom folders, decks and cards for you. Just paste into Shaeda.
DIY Academic Tools improved
You can now generate more Reword/Related/Pre-Req cards all at once, and customise the amount thereof. Previously this required going through each card one-by-one.
This feature is incredibly beneficial for ensuring one’s knowledge and learning does not become ‘underfitted’ to their cards.
For instance, one may be able to answer “Which process converts light energy into chemical energy?”, but fail when asked “Describe photosynthesis”.
Shaeda’s inbuilt Academic Tools prevents this while still leveraging the Testing Effect - itself a prevention of the Illusion of Competence.
